  • Responsible for daily and weekly maintenance of all 8 GC/MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) agilents used for analyzing extracted drug samples.
  • Loaded and programed extracted drug runs onto corresponding agilents (depending on analyte type) strategically to ensure all runs were completed in a timely manner.
  • Followed proper chain of custody documenting procedures for all legal samples.
  • Monitored data coming off of agilents from active legal and clinical drug runs; checking for any issues with calibrators/controls, checking for overloaded samples and/or samples needing carryover checks, scheduling reinjections, etc..
  • Conducted initial reviews for completed legal and clinical drug runs throughout entire shift, which consisted of analyzing chromatography, conducting necessary calculations, checking for data abnormalities, and inputting results into the correct computer program.
  • Frequently troubleshot issues with agilents and determined what actions were needed to resolve the problem (clean/replace parts, correct corrupted files, change method settings, restart runs, etc..
  • Responsible for calibrating all pipettes in the Toxicology lab for certain volumes depending on use. Calibration was monitored utilizing the Artel calibration machine as well as using the Artel computer program to create calibration plans, methods, and schedules for each pipette. (Worked with Drummonds, Rainin, Eppendorf, and Fisherbrand pipettes)
  • Ensured all pipettes were sanitized, damages repaired, and parts replaced as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
  • Responsible for all reagent preparations including making up buffers, liquid calibrators/controls, establishing internal standards, and formulating solutions as needed by the laboratory technologists.
  • Ensured all frozen calibrators/controls needed for daily runs were sufficiently stocked and replenished as necessary by making up a new batch and aliquoting the correct amount and volume needed for each analyte using a JANUS machine.
