Conduct statewide Union Management Communication Committee, effectively communicate issues, share and receive information, advance member's position. Negotiate Mandatory Subjects (DTB). Investigate and analyze issues and apply Collective Bargaining Agreement, identify impacts, work effectively and professionally with member leaders, Council staff, administrators, and other stakeholders to advocate for best possible outcomes for membership. Communicate clearly and professionally. Quickly assimilate and apply new information and details of diverse organizations and job-specific issues. Utilize exceptional organizational and time management skills. Proficiently use all electronic resources and tools. Also responsible for negotiating grievance settlements via PARM or PERC mediation; arbitration; contract negotiation; and PRB hearings; however I am new to this temporary position and have not yet had an opportunity to engage in these processes.

Lead position; EBT Project Coordinator, provided on-the-job training for all aspects of fiscal and support work, document management project coordinator, inventory, customer service and complaint resolution, food stamp accountability, protective payee coordinator, accounts payable/receivable and other fiscal work. Served on Governor Locke's Interagency Committee for State Employed Women, served on ICSEW legislative committee.
Most importantly, this is where my 37-year-and-counting history as a union activist began. At the beginning of my tenure at DSHS I became active in my Union as a steward, political activist, and local officer and/or committee chair, and served as delegate to both State and International Conventions.
Dates are approximate; Worked a total of nine months intermittently for the Legislative and Political Action department on such projects as mobilizing members to volunteer in crucial special election for state Senator who was a deciding factor in WFSE gaining collective bargaining legislation. Traveled statewide leading Lunch N Learns to educate members about civil service reform and collective bargaining, PEOPLE, and political action. Mobilized members, set up phone banks, and worked turn-out to volunteer for various candidates and campaign rallies. Provided training to locals statewide on the Caucus process in an effort to build WFSE legislative priorities into the party's platform. Lobbied elected officials on items of importance to our membership.
