08/2017 to 03/2020 Knit Sewer, Quality Control Inspector, Packer Stonemor Partners | Roanoke, VA,

Ran serger machine, tacker, fringe machine. Read order to see what type hats to sew. Filled boxes according to order and sent to the packing line. On days we were short handed I would help tun the caps, pack amount the order called for in the boxes, labeled them, and packed them on pallets to go to shipping. During slow period in the Knit Department I worked in Quality Control as an inspector. i inspected embroidered caps for for mistakes, made sure everything was done according to order printout, packed the amount called for, labeled, stacked on pallet, used pallet jack to take to shipping. i also served on the safety committee. once a month the ones on the committee went around every department to check for safety violations. If any were found, we wrote up an order and turned it into maintenance to be repaired. When COVID-19 hit, orders dropped off and we were laid off with a call back date of June 27th but orders still weren't coming in so we weren't able to go back. I then decided to sell my home and move to St Peters where my daughter and grandchildren are. I have been helping my daughter with her Professional Cleaning business to help her out but would now like to go back to work elsewhere too.

05/2013 to 03/2020 Tape Roller Sheltered Workshops Inc. | City, STATE,

Rolls of Extreme tape weighing about 50 lb. came to us from Mocap Inc. who .we were contacted out to. I would lift them up on racks and given order printouts on what length it had to be and how many had to be done. i rolled it on spools, filled the orders. packed them into boxes, labeled, and stacked them on skids. i then wrapped the skids with cellophane, used a pallet jack to transport them to the loading dock. i also operated a box compressor and a huge grinding machine that grinded up big pieces of plastic into tiny pieces. we then dumped it into huge bags and boxes, labeled, stacked on a skid, and was sent to a company that made mats and other things out of it. In another part of them company was like a workshop for mentally and physically handicapped people. If work was low in our department and we didn't want to go home, we were allowed after special training to help staff with the handicapped people. We would help them with little projects they had for them to learn. it was an honor to work with them. They are very special people with unbiased hearts. they always had a smile and hug for me. It was a privilege to get to know them.

01/1990 to 05/2013 Laborer Little Valley Farms | City, STATE,

Ran equipment including tractors, round and square baler, bush hog, seeder and fertilizer, bobcat, and hi-lift. i was responsible for fencing, ordering feed and vet supplies, taking care of the feeding of livestock and vaccinating

05/1982 to 09/1990 Supervisor in Cutting Dept. Cap America | City, STATE,

Assign duties to employees, figure material spreads to be cut for the sewing line to make the caps. When i first started there i had to figure all the spreads on a calculator. Later we set it up on computers. i helped pull 75 lb rolls of material about 6 ft. long out of holding racks. Carried it to the spread table and placed them on racks to be rolled out into how ever many layers and length it needed to be for the order. i also ran the big cutting machine to cut the different sections for the caps. i had to keep inventory in the warehouse and turn it in to the office for reorder of material. i helped load and unload trucks of supplies. i would haul the orders on pallet jacks from our department to the the other side of the building to the sewing dept.
