  • Initially assumed responsibilities of service writer and warranty administration and DDEW entry and processing.
  • I initially was able to reduce the number of UN-finished and in-proper claims and repair orders from over 90 open and reduced to 4 working with four techs.I quickly was able to teach the dealer how to properly do his business with a greater amount of effectiveness.
  • After two years the former parts manager was released from duty and those duties were given to me.
  • With a sub-standard business system that had not been utilized for 5 years, I was able to perform a physical inventory and approximate exactly what the dealer had in dollar value and what was not "moving" and what was returnable for surplus.
  • However as the parts department became efficient the service department began to lag with excessive open R.O.'s and the inability of repairs to be performed properly I assumed responsibility and began to perform those tasks as well to help the dealer out as best as possible.

  • Initially hired as service manager, I lead by example and put extreme effort into showing the dealer and my CO-workers how to access Isis to do vin# searches for possible open campaigns on vehicles and how to work together to achieve a common goal.
  • Three months in to my employment the current parts counter man quit with no notice and after console with the dealer principle it was determined it was far easier to get a replacement service manager instead of trying to fing a parts counter man with my current level of experience.

  • After a three year absence working at the dealer in Alpena Michigan I was amazed at what could transpire when people don't care about the customer.
  • My first day I found the phone did not ring until 11:00.
  • I quickly hired an outside salesman as the position was vacant and released three non-performing parts people.
  • After 3 months and some employee replacements, the phone began to ring and sales were soon to follow allowing the Jackson Michigan store to flip from #6 in a 6-store chain, in profitability.
  • To #1 I was able to persuade the dealer principle and his parts administration team of a more efficient and better way to do the store purchases decreasing lead times for customers and improving over-all customer satisfaction COUNTER SALES/ROUTE SALES.

  • Began work as a stock man, I quickly was able to learn the nuts and bolts of the International parts system and was soon assigned counter, inventory, stock responsibilities and was placed on 2nd shift.
  • After three months was able to perform lead man task's as well and managed the repairs for a 25 unit fleet (Alro Steel).
  • After the route salesman was assigned to the Muskegon location I was given the route salesman position and actively called on the four county locations.
  • I was able to regain customers lost in the Washtenaw county area (Ann Arbor Public Schools) and was proud to be a member of a team that beat the principle location's sales and profit goals.
