Retail sales professional who excels in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. Client-focused with broad knowledge of every aspect of retail acquired over 25 years. I began in the shipping/receiving department at Caldor in 1985 filing, checking in merchandise, handling chargebacks , and over seeing customer pick- ups . The following year I moved to Swezey's Department store and the selling floor in the Junior's department. I was top sales associate earning numerous bonuses when we surpassed our sales goals. This is where I learned and honed my customer service skills . I then worked at Stern's which then became Macy's. Once again selling ladies clothing and covering lingerie and menswear for over-time when the occasion allowed. In the ensuing years, I have managed various boutiques in the resort/ seasonal area The Hamptons on Long Island until the present and my relocation recently to upstate New York.
I received numerous gift cards and cash bonuses while at Macy's and TJ Maxx for opening charge accounts and generated from favorable letters from satisfied customers writing in to their websites.
My job was to oversee all ladies apparel for the store from distribution and merchandising to customer service. Another of my duties entailed training and supervising 6 part- time associates in the fittingroom and on the selling floor. On occasion I assumed the responsibilities of FEC or Front line supervisor. As such, I made change for cashiers, provided customer service , answered the phone and saw to the smooth , speedy check out of customers.
I began this position as a sales associate and moved on to manager and assistant buyer. I opened and closed the store in addition to maintaining a client list and attended trade shows with the owner. Since the store was in a resort area, the position was seasonal . I was laid off and found another position with more stability.
I stated this position as sales associate and moved up to manager when the owner of the boutique moved to Florida. In addition to running the day to day operations opening and closing the store ,I trained and supervised all sales and support staff. This position continued when the owner sold the business and I stayed on to manage the store for the new owner.
I started as part-time sales associate and was offered full time immediately. I maintained a client list often serving as personal shopper to over 20 customers. I both attended and worked trade shows as the owner was a designer retailing and wholesaling ladies clothing. This position ended when the store relocated out of my area.
With a focus on business, I graduated with a Regent's diploma.
