Accomplishments

Accomplishments and Programs implemented at assigned sites within the CJ Network:

  • Created highly effective new replenishment process that significantly impacted efficiency and improved operations in Allentown PA and West Jefferson OH.
  • Successfully transitioned Allentown PA from DLX 5.5 to DLX 9.1 from start to finish.
  • Successfully completed the transition for West Jefferson OH from DLX 5.5 to DLX 9.1. With additional changes that were required to fully utilize the new WMS.
  • Developed plans for complete rework for the Romeoville facility to add additional floor storage while also changing the racking environment to single select. Which gives the facility more opportunities for consistent workflow.

Accomplishments and Programs implemented at DSC Logistics Carol Stream:

  • Implemented a program to reduce High List Pick in order to complete customer orders in a timely manner while also meeting customer requirements. The old system would cause a great amount of labor to be put on High List Pick in order to complete an order based on the customers shelf life requirement. When an item had a shelf life requirement regardless of the shelf life being in the pick face (bottom location) the system would cause the picker to pick the item from a location that is above the bottom location. Resulting in a five step process which would include dropping the current pallet, reaching for the pallet in the rack, picking the product off of the pallet that was brought down, placing the pallet back in the rack, obtaining the current pallet. This process caused as stated before a large amount of labor to be put on this task and took away from other task that could of been accomplished in the warehouse. The new system takes the shelf life requirement that the customer would prefer and cross references the Case Pick location and looks to see if the requirements are met and zero's out the shelf life requirement in the system. Which turns the picks into Case Picks verses High List Picks resulting in minimizing the amount of labor being put on High List Picks and being able to finish customer orders in a more timely manner.
