HR OPERATIONS Coordinate, develop, and communicate human resource functions related to employment such as recruiting, hiring, compensation, employee relations, and job evaluation. Serves as the Timekeeper, Absence Partner and Employee Relations Partner in Workday and serves as point-of-contact responsible for all LSUE activities related to time entry, time tracking, and leave of absence (e.g. leave without pay, FMLA, etc.). Assists managers and employees with entering time, correcting time, and provides training as needed. May also enter time and correct time on behalf of employees and/or managers as needed. Collaborates with campus staff to ensure appropriate documentation/information is submitted to HRM to complete Workday actions.
CONSULTING: Serves as a trusted and confidential liaison to campus leadership on all matters related to Human Resources (HR). Collaborates and assists supervisors and employees in understanding HR-related policies; research problems and recommend solutions through appropriate channels. Assists supervisors by providing routine information relative to the performance appraisal system; provides notification of deadlines for completion and follows up to ensure target dates are met. Assists management with adhering to procedural details in taking disciplinary actions. Assists as directed with the collection of documentation in relation to employee relation matters in conjunction with Leadership, Title IX/AAEO, and General Counsel when necessary. Assists in drafting job descriptions, offer letters and contracts for new hires to ensure compliance per LSU policies and federal and state regulations.
COMPLIANCE: Serves as the campus HR compliance liaison responsible for compliance reporting and review for assigned HR areas and tasks. Regularly audits information to ensure accuracy and compliance with state, federal and university laws and policies. Reviews personnel files on a routine basis to ensure that current descriptions are maintained for all positions. Collects, compiles and analyzes statistical data required to prepare various reports and meet reporting requirements (e.g. Affirmative Action Plan, Board of Supervisors reporting, Civil Service reporting, etc.). Supports campus leadership with the execution of personnel matters and change initiatives as needed. Serves as the point-of-contact for assisting with audits performed by various offices.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: Manages support programs regarding various HR topics including but not limited to CPTP training, safety training, etc. Identifies training and development opportunities and communicates as needed to the campus.
COMMUNICATIONS: Responsible for managing Workday and HR related communications with campus staff to ensure the correct and timely entry of human resource related actions in Workday. Manages development and distribution of HRM communications for the LSUE campus (e.g. monthly HRM Happenings newsletter); Maintains campus websites (e.g. HRM website, executive search sites) and HRM forms, ensuring information remains up-to-date. Serves as a liaison with other state agencies and LSU entities.
Serves in the Human Resource Analyst role in Workday for the LSU Eunice campus. Enters human resource related actions in Workday such as creating positions and job requisitions, adding, updating, and removing appointments, compensation changes, new hires, job changes, and terminations. Serves as the HR Benefits Partner and point-of-contact responsible for managing all LSUE activities related to benefits and onboarding. In Workday, serves as the Benefits Analyst & Retirement Partner responsible for managing all benefit-related transactions. Assist with open enrollment for all employee types.
Responsible for managing Workday related communications with campus staff to ensure correct entry of human resource related actions in Workday. Works with division staff to ensure appropriate documentation/information is submitted to HRM to complete Workday actions. Reviews position descriptions for accuracy of organizational information. Schedules employees for required training through CPTP. Monitors and maintains records of completed course work
May serve as first point of contact on inquiries related to all areas of Human Resources and forwards to appropriate specialist if necessary.
