Duties: As a small arms repair technician, I was responsible for daily maintenance and record keeping of weapons and equipment stored within our armory compound. As an armorer we were attached to weekly rifle ranges where we would conduct training and repairs as needed. During my time in this position I have worked with the following billets within my shop:

  • Armory Chief- Oversee & delegate tasks, give daily reports to upper chain of command, plan the logistics for movement of weapons to a fro Camp Pendleton for deployments.
  • Floor Chief- Responsible for doing quality control checks on all degraded weapons or deadlined weapons. As the floor chief I was held responsible for ensuring Jr. Marines completed their daily task's as well as kept up-to-date records of billets.
  • GCSS- All deadlined or degraded weapons parts that needed ordering would be conducted through GCSS (Global Combat Support System). This was a software that kept track of ordered parts, maintenance conducted, and our order status.
