Going back and forth in circles having experiences, tales and dreams
Over every frosty hill in winter thawing out the coldness over two paths diverged in streams
Being able to read the seasons and times of the skills involved
Asking for help and receiving help in the active roll call
Counseling those needing advice just starting in the field
Keeping check of the duties and rolls of the job hot at the heels
The best type of learning is life itself as its a journey and not a destination
Only taking the greatest amount of perseverance to learn life's wisdom by turning around in calm patience
Discerning a job that was helpful to expanding the love of wisdom for other people in a quiet calm zone
Is the best type of learning that's not involving the phone
Certainly is a job for me to hold
Every individual has a dream - handsome or beautiful - a story itself to be re-told
Reading the silver lining is like turning the page for one's own life
Never knowing the very end but making the best with light
In every individuals life, struggles and joys hit hard and fast
Now, in the present we as humans always have the power to bounce back
Get back up and do not ever give up
Live life to its fullest, with joys, hopes, sorrows, and wins and losses
In every time learn that with all the moments there is the present cost
For this, remember to make the best of every second
Encircling the circle of life is the beautiful quiet of life's lessons

Being in Garden Center had a wide variety of roles that the employees had to be able to fulfill. especially in the changing seasons. I would have to be able to work with a fellow coworker to load in a grill or bags of sand or cement or pools in the summertime and Christmas trees in the winter time.
Another part of our job would be to stock shelves - to block, face, and keep the items organized on the shelves. This was called the zone. I would have to keep the shelves straight, neat, and akempt for customers to be able to find what they needed quickly and efficiently.
Guiding customers to their desired item that they came in to buy was crucial part of the job as managing the floor and having another coworker working the cash register or willing to switch out so one could work the floor and assist customers if they could not find a product easily. Having devices to quickly to scan and find the Aisle number and item UPC would be of great use. Learning to read the placement of an item and how to organize them and find them and keep them in order by restocking from the backroom was all part of the floor job.
I helped customers check out their items quick and smoothly once they found everything that they needed. Being able to talk and greet them was a crucial part of helping customers feel welcome being able to quickly help them regardless if they were in a hurry or cruising along I would be there always ready for them if they had any questions depending on the current season.
Working with others to complete a project such as returning return items or being able to check multiple customers out at once if a line got too long was being able to communicate effectively to get the shift done as efficiently with teamwork. A group would be at the register, two people on the zone helping customers and 3-4 people out in the back working on projects - building or organizing freight received from the trucks or the background.
Being able to sale and provide information to a customer curious about lifestyle changes was a key role in learning and applying for this job. Listening and being able to understand what the customer needed for his or her lifestyle and came in for is the main goal of GNC.
Driving sales was informing customers of how to save money the most efficient way and most timely manner - especially when sales came around on important holidays - bogos or 50% items was very helpful in assisting a customer save money, time, and get more bang for their buck.
Politeness and being knowledgeable on the product was critical in being able to help the customer as supplements and vitamins are changes that affect the body and learning the adverse and beneficial effects are helpful to letting the customer know what the product does, how it affects the body, the effects of it, if the product would affect the body in any sort of way due to the answers given by the lifestyle questions asked.
Being calm and rational is a good quality to have as appearing nervous or closed off would drive off sales and drive off the customer. Forming a polite conversation and being able to relate to the customer and their fitness needs, wellness needs, or general overall health is and still is excellent customer service.
Processing payments and maintaining sales was a skilled that fluctuated with the amount of sales that the store would get over time. Depending on the weather that day, if there was special event going on or a holiday the PMS and sales would vary. Learning how to count and being aware of the sales and environment around is a important skill to have to keep up to date to the ever constant research going on in the nutrition field for the people buying.
Stocking the shelves was a daily task that would usually be done in the morning, keeping and maintaining a neat and clean store would also be done in the morning and kept clean until the next shift by the floors, shelves, and products itself.
Answering questions about certain promotions on those holidays and resolving return items or receipts or disputing items was very helpful in giving back the customer their money within 30 days of a the policy.
Keeping tabs on the sales and amount of sales throughout the day was an ability to keep focused and on top of tasks by multitasking and keeping the products faced organized and neat while still checking out customers was very handy as usually there would only be one employee working the store that day.
Checking in with teamwork efforts on the phone to be able to cooperate and provide moral and support for those trying to learn how to sale and learn how to help customers according to their health nees was a very insightful way to be able to provide feedback and provide useful information to best help the general public and their health goals.
If below the sales goals, being able to cut corners in a organized way and think on top of the sales by producing quick results beneficial to the company is a useful skill in being able bounce back from a bad week of low sales.
Polite and respectful behavior by helping each customer one on one as every customer in the health nutrition and lifestyle goals had a unique target tat he or she wanted to reach and each customer was different in their fitness goals or the lifestyle that they lived meaning food, sleep and intake of water or other liquids affecting their emotional or mental or physical health and knowing how it affected the body and the wisest decision to recommend to them was the best way to make a sale and make a healthy connection with a customer who would come back with results showing.
Food Lion would count on me to be able to clean the store for monthly checkups from OSHA. I would be responsible for keeping a safe clean environment for customers to be able to shop in a store that is neat, sanitized, and a friendly environment for everyone to come in, feel welcome and be greeted.
When there was a problem with the restrooms, or when a heavy shelf needing to be moved, or a spill in an aisle - I was always the first to be willing to help and be able to clean it productively in a safe and friendly manner.
I would demonstrate my knowledge and decisive ability to make quick decisions if a sanitary issue came up and needed handling, I would be called upon to be dependable - whether It would be to take out the trash, clean the restrooms, help a customer with a cart, or clean the bottom of the shelf or the top, or remove stickers, I would be the first to go help respectfully and quickly.
I was aware of the time in which tasks needed to be completed. If the produce windows needed cleaning or wiping down and it took 2 hours and I was 30 minutes behind, I would have to make a decision whether or not the next task needed to be completed.
My daily tasks would be to have a checklist in the morning and to go through the checklist. Everyday I would have a certain area or place that needed addressing more than another. Three areas were always of prime importance - the produce area, the customer service area, and the restrooms and the front of the store to be able to maintain a clean and welcoming environment to customers coming in until the time that they go out.
