Mixed media artist with a love for design & nature. Skilled in a variety of mediums, I love to combine color & texture to create aesthetics that can accurately communicate beauty to an audience. My artistic journey has been unconventional at best, but I feel that it has only broadened my ability to create; pulling from so many different experiences, I have a unique perspective that others do not.
Attended TCU from fall of 2001 through the spring of 2002 studying basics.
Received the opportunity to attend Kingston University near London, UK to study fashion design which then led to fine art. Attended Kingston for one semester of fall 2003.
Studied basics at Texas A&M for one year from fall of 2002 through spring of 2003.
Became the student of a local artist named Jena Taylor, who taught & mentored me for an entire year from the beginning to the end of 2004. She not only exposed me to all three mediums of paint; acrylic, watercolor & oil, but color & design theory as well as drawing & scaling. I also experimented with charcoal, pastels & paint markers.
Was contracted with Agora Gallery in the gallery district in Chelsea, NY & exhibited in a group showing in January 2013.
Featured in 2012 London Olympics summer show at JL Gallery in association with Ashby Arts.
Featured in "30 under 30" in small business issue of Urban Tulsa Magazine for 30 businesses owned by entrepreneurs under the age of 30.
Nominated & Runner up for "Best Artist" for Absolute Best of Tulsa awards for Urban Tulsa Magazine.
Owned & operated "Jessica Claire Art" studio on Brookside in Tulsa, OK for two years open to the public for retail & commission services.
Lived in New York while fulfilling contract with Agora Gallery in Chelsea, producing work for exposure through the gallery as well as commission work for customers.
Managed Brookside studio in Tulsa, OK for retail & contract art. Work included customized paintings, murals & furniture painting for residential & commercial spaces. Also hosted several events such as fund-raisers, art openings for other local artists & non-profit awareness.
Store merchandising for jewelry, shoe & purse displays, clothing racks & mannequins. Assisted with new exhibit for store expansion including make-up, hair & skincare lines along with style consulting for store customers.
Assisted with the courtyard layout of GardenWorks that consisted of plants, flowers & herbs.
Full-time floral designer job that entailed silk & fresh arrangements for everyday occasions as well as wedding parties. Also required to set up Christmas & gala installs for residential & commercial spaces.
Oversaw several types of interior design projects from a warehouse remodel to baby nursery to 17 office renovations. Complete with changes to paint, furniture, lighting and flooring aesthetics.
