Commissioned to provide mechanical drafting and assist in producing vehicular bus and train parts for public transportation agencies (MTA, OCTA, & METRO LINK). Responsible for parts prototyping, quality assurance of fabricated parts, modification, and research. This was a start- up Minority Business Enterprise.
Coordinated Facilities Space Management and Relocation of nine-hundred cubical spaces and employees to a newly leased, six story office building. Project required planning, placement, and activation of all support systems such as: telecommunications, faxes, computers, physical wall partitioning, design layout, 18 wheeler truck transportation, and supervision of twenty or more Red Ball Movers. Also maintained and reactivated dormant facility space, and serviced five industrial building containing: Office Space, Manufacturing machines, Laboratory, and outside yards. Received Letter of Appreciation for "Outstanding Performance" (1988)
Implemented the initial planning and procurement of material parts hardware such as: (nuts, bolts, structural metal, graphite, fabrics, etc.) for installation on Space Satellites. Also functioned as fabrication technician on Satellites by installing various components awaiting final assembly. Interfaced with Aerospace Engineers, Fellow Technicians in a team effort, Supervisors, and Management.
Designed & drafted Architectural plans for low-income Family Dwellings such as: Apartment Rehabilitations, Single Family Homes, Multi-Family Senior Citizen Complexes, and the renovation of light commercial City buildings. Also performed residential Kitchen & Bath remodel designs, Project Supervision, and serviced the public counter. Interfaced, daily, with Developers, Contractors, Engineers, Architects, Dept. of Building & Safety, C.H.F.A, and HUD (Housing and Urban Development).
Initially began retail sales experience in the Luggage Dept. then Housewares, and finally in Ladies Shoes as Assistant Manager. Responsible for customer service & sales, maintaining inventory, open and close register, Supervise sales staff, and report to upper management.
Performed paint removal and exterior maintenance on commercial & private aircraft such as, Lear Jets, DC-8's, 747's, Cherokees, and other crafts like classic plans and cars. The removal of paint, to reduce aircraft weight, was accomplished by using a high grade acidic paint stripper. Formulation and mixture of other chemical products was done to brighten up the exposed aluminum, and alloy metals.
Responsibilities included: drawing schematics, drafting plans, and conducting measurements of Navy Battle Ships.
