More than ever Iowa State University will need someone guiding the work/school community to a level of interconnectedness never more important than now. As the Youth and Family Education Coordinator I will offer a powerful means to support Reiman Gardens with varied experiences and ability to lead in a multifaceted environment. I have coordinated complex small & large-scale events including negotiating contracts with vendors/speakers/entertainment. Direct experience managing groups of students and families. Built skills around the foundations of language, communication and critical thinking; worked decades at maintaining a working relationship with a wide variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds. I have developed and led classes that have helped individuals and groups work from a positive platform of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and decision-making. I have first-hand experience managing data and synthesizing it to projected outcomes. I would be honored to represent Iowa State University through my success with building student achievement as well as developing platforms through special events and social media. The ultimate guest experience is the driving factor in guest and student relationships. Knowing how to listen and target feedback to build confidence and provide the structured strategies student and families need to have to gain insight on how to achieve knowledge is a strength. My flair for connectivity and ability to build and sustain positive relationships is a huge attribute. I am an enthusiastic service provider eager to contribute to team success through hard work, attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. I have a clear understanding of diverse needs and building relationships and training in special events. I am motivated to learn, grow and excel in the position of Youth and Family Education Coordinator.

I started nonprofit 501(c)3 called The Hope Foundation which advocates for special needs children and families. It provides on-going social emotional and behavioral training as well as group community outings. Collaborate with area agencies for unified support of educational, clinical, socio-emotional and job related training. Supported family liaison for school IEP’s and transition meeting which helps families understand clinical diagnosis and behavioral plans. Advocated for, educated and supported families as to use effective resources for themselves and students outcomes. Conducted outreach and marketing to ensure information about program benefits and services are relayed to appropriate audiences. Maintained up-to-date relationships with community-based programs, service coordinators, and local clinics and school districts.
Traveled world assisting Fortune 500 companies run sales meetings, pop up events, and reward trips. Assisted with many special events such as: banquets, meetings, specialized events and VIP travel. Worked closely with hotel staff to ensure all systems were up and working flawlessly for client experience. Created memorable experiences for client at hotel and around city of which were staying.
Worked collaboratively with districts, administrators, teachers, special education teachers and parents to help serve general education, special needs population as well as significant behavioral needs students in social and emotional learning (SEL). Used culturally responsive teaching to help bring awareness of issues surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion(DEI). Used applied behavioral analysis (ABA) to design effective interventions used to create buy-in and execute strategies for DEI. Collected and analyzed data directly related to district wide goals related to improving SEL in schools across all departments. Developed and presented professional development for teachers and administrators across multiple districts in SEL and behavioral supports. Worked closely with University of Iowa’s behavioral science unit to assess DEI needs in education and workplace setting. Set up programming for school districts related to their needs to help with all students needing to access culturally responsible settings. Collaborated across districts and schools on short & long term planning of goals related to academic success.
Taught and supervised undergraduate and graduate students at UNI's communicative disorders program. Used evidence based practices to achieve stated goals for each individual student. Provided structured and multi-tiered level of supports to achieve academic success. Complied with rules of department and University of which standards were to be met. Coordinated supervision of student clinicians while providing 1:1 services.
