Summary

The last 5 years have been a really special and important time as my wife and I build our family. I am a proud husband and father of 2 boys, and my main priority and focus the last 5 years has been taking care of my children as a stay at home dad. Caring for my kids and watching them develop and grow every day has been such a unique experience and I am so grateful for it. Along with any job, and it has been a job, there have been plenty of challenges along the way as well. Some of the more important skills I've learned during my time as a stay at home parent that translate to any other job are patience, a lot of multi-tasking practice, compassion and time management. Like I've said, it's been an amazing experience, but my desire for more balance and community makes me extremely excited to broaden my horizons and venture down a new career path.

One thing you will always get from me is consistency. I hold myself to a high standard, especially in my enthusiasm and respect for others. I'm also very meticulous. I can honestly admit that this sometimes effects my speed at a task, but you can be certain my attention to detail makes up for this weakness and I am a fast learner. From founding and managing my own band and music business for the last 8 years, to carpentry, multiple years in the service industry, and working with kids, I've done a lot of different things. What I've brought to the table in every job I've ever had is my unique ability to gel with people and bring a positive attitude to the workplace. I enjoy being a part of a team. I am confident in saying that I can bolster moral and lift peoples spirits. It's what I've done through my music for the past 15 years and it's a part of my daily life as well. I am creatively minded and love to learn and am a good listener. I'm incredibly eager and determined to join your team and help your business grow. I look forward to meeting you and thank you for this opportunity.

Experience
03/2015 to Current Founder/Business Owner Asrc Federal Holding Company | Jber, AK,

I am the founder and owner of my band Madaila. We started out in 2015 and have toured nationally and regionally over the years. It's taken a lot of time and hard work to build up the brand and have some success in a VERY challenging industry. After my son was born we took a 1.5 yr hiatus. Before that we were regarded as one of Vermont's biggest bands as we played the highly coveted New Years Eve run at Burlington's Higher Ground in 2017, and two years we hosted our own festival on Main St. in downtown Burlington called "Madaila On Main" which had never been done before. The band has slowly come back into the fold but as more of a solo project. I have slowly maintained the brand by playing shows and putting out albums, but since my main focus has been taking care of my children, the band is not as serious or rigorous as it once was.

  • Managed the employees
  • Established many business relationships
  • Negotiating contracts
  • Run all social media platforms.
  • Creative direction and branding
09/2019 to 03/2020 Carpenter Hei Hotels & Resorts | Tucson, AZ,

I started at Red House with little to no carpentry experience. I was amazed by how much knowledge is required and there's so many different facets to carpentry. The tools, the language, the math, the types of wood, the accuracy etc etc. I learned a lot and enjoyed the manual labor. I did a lot of cleaning of the job sites and the grunt work but also a fair amount of carpentry as well. It was very fulfilling work. I was part of Home Services at Red House and we focused on smaller, residential jobs (ie decks, bathroom remodels, exterior work).

  • Safely operated power saws, planers, jointers, routers and pneumatic equipment
  • Shaped materials to exact measurements for job requirements using hand tools and power equipment.
  • Safely used band, circular, jig, reciprocating, chop and compound miter saws.
05/2014 to 06/2017 Barista Churchill Downs Inc. | Oxford, ME,

A lot of practice in customer service/relations. Long shifts up to 10 hrs on your feet. Prepared coffee and espresso drinks, smoothies, juices, and food for customers. My best quality here was my relationships with customers and always having a smile on my face. I was also very good at stocking and was given the responsibility of ordering food and going to Costco every week to re-stock all food and drink items for the cafe.

  • Maintained calm demeanor during high-volume periods and special events.
  • Managed inventory by establishing and adjusting ordering parameters, accurate forecasting and monitoring waste.
  • Enthusiastically engaged customers during busy periods to keep mood light and fun.
  • Ordered, received and stocked supplies and retail products.
  • Gave details on coffee blends and preparation descriptions to customers.
07/2009 to 05/2011 Server University Of California | Sacramento, CA,
  • I worked the counter at On the Rise Bakery. I often opened the bakery in the morning, but also had experience running the bar at night and managing the dinner rush.
  • Mostly counter service and running food to the cafe and handling transactions with customers. A lot of customer relations and some food prep.
05/2003 to 08/2009 Window Cleaner Salvation Army Usa | Mount Pleasant, MI,
  • Commercial and residential window cleaning.
  • This job required a lot of manual labor, like carrying ladders and using lifts. Attention to detail was a must with this job.
  • There was also a lot of hospitality and customer relations involved when doing someone's home or when billing and collecting money from an individual store.
  • On paper it seems like I worked for Stark for a long time, which I did, but those dates are a bit misleading because I worked for them periodically over the years, sometimes very part-time while I was a touring musician.
07/2007 to 12/2007 After School Counselor City Kids- Burlington Parks And Recreation | City, STATE,
  • I worked as an after school counselor for City Kids at Flynn Elementary in Burlington.
  • I worked with 45 kids, K-6.
  • Being the youngest counselor I tended to lead more of the bigger, sports active games and activities.
  • Large amount of multi tasking and responsibility for many children at once.
04/2005 to 08/2006 Waterfront Staff Basin Harbor Club | City, STATE,
  • The job consisted of a lot of customer relations/hospitality business.
  • I would help maintain the harbor by cleaning, docking and moving boats and managing where people should go, as well as renting out bikes, boats, kayaks to guests.
  • I operated a boat and took guests out on water-ski and tubing charters and I was also a kayak guide for kayak tours.
