The last 5 years have been a really special and important time as my wife and I build our family. I am a proud husband and father of 2 boys, and my main priority and focus the last 5 years has been taking care of my children as a stay at home dad. Caring for my kids and watching them develop and grow every day has been such a unique experience and I am so grateful for it. Along with any job, and it has been a job, there have been plenty of challenges along the way as well. Some of the more important skills I've learned during my time as a stay at home parent that translate to any other job are patience, a lot of multi-tasking practice, compassion and time management. Like I've said, it's been an amazing experience, but my desire for more balance and community makes me extremely excited to broaden my horizons and venture down a new career path.
One thing you will always get from me is consistency. I hold myself to a high standard, especially in my enthusiasm and respect for others. I'm also very meticulous. I can honestly admit that this sometimes effects my speed at a task, but you can be certain my attention to detail makes up for this weakness and I am a fast learner. From founding and managing my own band and music business for the last 8 years, to carpentry, multiple years in the service industry, and working with kids, I've done a lot of different things. What I've brought to the table in every job I've ever had is my unique ability to gel with people and bring a positive attitude to the workplace. I enjoy being a part of a team. I am confident in saying that I can bolster moral and lift peoples spirits. It's what I've done through my music for the past 15 years and it's a part of my daily life as well. I am creatively minded and love to learn and am a good listener. I'm incredibly eager and determined to join your team and help your business grow. I look forward to meeting you and thank you for this opportunity.

I am the founder and owner of my band Madaila. We started out in 2015 and have toured nationally and regionally over the years. It's taken a lot of time and hard work to build up the brand and have some success in a VERY challenging industry. After my son was born we took a 1.5 yr hiatus. Before that we were regarded as one of Vermont's biggest bands as we played the highly coveted New Years Eve run at Burlington's Higher Ground in 2017, and two years we hosted our own festival on Main St. in downtown Burlington called "Madaila On Main" which had never been done before. The band has slowly come back into the fold but as more of a solo project. I have slowly maintained the brand by playing shows and putting out albums, but since my main focus has been taking care of my children, the band is not as serious or rigorous as it once was.
I started at Red House with little to no carpentry experience. I was amazed by how much knowledge is required and there's so many different facets to carpentry. The tools, the language, the math, the types of wood, the accuracy etc etc. I learned a lot and enjoyed the manual labor. I did a lot of cleaning of the job sites and the grunt work but also a fair amount of carpentry as well. It was very fulfilling work. I was part of Home Services at Red House and we focused on smaller, residential jobs (ie decks, bathroom remodels, exterior work).
A lot of practice in customer service/relations. Long shifts up to 10 hrs on your feet. Prepared coffee and espresso drinks, smoothies, juices, and food for customers. My best quality here was my relationships with customers and always having a smile on my face. I was also very good at stocking and was given the responsibility of ordering food and going to Costco every week to re-stock all food and drink items for the cafe.
