  • Participated in an After Action Review. (AAR)
  • Participated in Tailgate Safety Briefings followed by the review of a Job Hazard Analysis. (JHA)
  • Swamped for sawyers clearing trails and brush and removed felled trees
  • Performed chipping operations
  • Used a drip torch during prescribed fire operations and held line around the prescribed burn
  • Engaged in medical operations for minor non-emergency incidents
  • Maintained a daily log of personal time worked and followed both oral and written directions in submitting those times
  • Became familiar with and used different types of pumps, drafts lines and valves
  • Cut and cleared brush, as well as dug trenches to create fire lines using axes, pulaskis or shovels
  • Established water supplies, connected hoses, and directed water onto fires
  • Patrolled burnt areas after fires to locate and eliminate hot spots that may restart fires

In addition to volunteering, I spent the summer of 2018 as a Seasonal Forestry Technician with the US Forest Service at the GS-3 level located in the Umpqua National Forest, and worked for the US Forest Service as a GS-4 Forestry Technician in the San Bernardino National Forest in the summer of 2019. I am eager to continue expanding my experiences far and wide to become a more valuable asset to any employer.
