While working as a Floor Associate/Seasonal Process Assistant at Amazon, I had the idea to post a person by the main package sorter during peak season in order to clear jams as they occurred rather than simply radioing to see who was available to clear them each time. Management informed me that peak season alone my decision saved Amazon an estimated $175,000 in lost labor time. Senior Leadership was so impressed with the results, they made it an official seasonal posting which was spread to other Amazon centers, becoming Amazon SOP. Amazon never publicly recognized my contribution, but addressed the change in a video during an "All Hands Meeting" where it was treated as a brilliant Amazon Innovation.
As the Floor Coach and later Floor Supervisor for Aerotek at TechStyle, I created most SOP for the Coach positions, created the spreadsheet template for tracking new hire hourly production rates for their training period, implemented a record keeping system for all rate tracking, and implementing procedures for coaching associates who did not meet production expectations. I continued throughout my tenure to redesign and improve the spreadsheets and records system as needed, and shared my system with other coaches and supervisors as the assignment expanded so that all members of the team were using a single system. I also assisted in creating and refining a spreadsheet template for the recording of attendance and work hours of Aerotek associates during the Covid-19 pandemic. This allowed us to keep accurate track of all associates' attendance and time punches for payroll purposes without the associates needing to risk violating social distance guidelines by all using the same few time clocks. I helped to improve relations with the client and their leadership personnel, to the point that multiple TechStyle personnel and Department Managers have voiced their desire for me to never leave because they feel I have been instrumental in the smooth function of their business.
