My squad was given the mission to set up a Forward Operating Base (FOB), build two C-Huts, and post security all within a two week time frame in Twenty-Nine Palms, California for a deployment work-up. Myself and my squad completed the task within a week and provided security for another unit while they moved into the FOB. We also reinforced previously emplaced security posts and added additional defense measures. Myself and my squad were commended on doing a job and completing said job within a timely manner and faster than the origional deadline.
I went to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina in June of 2014. I was a squad leader throughout my time in boot camp. From South Carolina I went to Camp Geiger, North Carolina to attend Marine Combat Training (MCT). Through that training I was a fire team leader in charge of 3 other team members. After MCT I went to my Military Occupational Specialty school aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. There I was appointed to the squad leader position and was given the duties of having my Marines outside and ready for accountability in a timely manner, also getting them to the designated areas where we were to attend class. I had my Marines at those designated areas fifteen minutes prior, and prepared for class in a timely manner. After MOS school I was sent to 8th Engineer Support Battalion where I was assigned a fire team leader billet. During my time with that battalion, we were tasked out to help another unit train for a deployment. during that training we were commended multiple times for getting our work done in a timely and professional manner. once we returned were again tasked out to help another unit work up for a deployment in which we were commended for our hard work and dedication.
Graduated with a technical degree.
