I have a strong background in the mental health field. I specialize in working with vulnerable populations: children and adults with cognitive and development delays and older adults. Currently, I work in the emergency management field, helping to provide disaster relief services to a variety of communities.
I am currently doing a lot of community service, and am working towards the President's Volunteer Service Award as an AmeriCorps member.

Title: Physical, Social, and Emotional Consequences of Late Adulthood Bereavement.
Findings: Several factors, including care-taking status, gender, and social support systems, influence the impact spousal loss has on older adults. Spousal loss also significantly affects financial stability and overall independence for this population.
Check children into center while parents work out; watch children; decorate room for holidays, birthdays, etc; create and participate in activities to keep children occupied; work closely with co-workers and supervisor to make sure all children are accounted for and safe.
Serve as co-therapist during group therapy sessions; help to de-escalate crisis situations; write up progress reports for organization, insurance, and file purposes, collect and store legal/confidentiality documents; collaborate with social workers, ARMHS workers, and probation officers to serve needs of clients; conduct intake sessions.
Create and participate in building activities (e.g. movie night, game days, etc), provide therapy services to adults throughout building, build rapport and relationships with clients, follow up on provided social work inquiries, check on building residents, provide mental health rehabilitation services; refer clients to community resources as needed.
