As Director of Uintah Impact Mitigation District primary responsibility was support and promotion of UBTECH and USU. In that role, performed following functions:

  • Worked with executive teams to provide scholarships for Uintah County residents
  • Provided funding and advisory support to USU's Air Quality Team
  • Served on Advisory councils for USU Administrative team
  • Served on Advisory board for USU Nursing Program
  • Worked with marketing teams from UBTECH and USU to promote their programs.
  • Served as Facilitator on Uintah County Uintech committee, K-16 Alliance, Chamber Education Committee, Chamber Education Summit committee.
  • Additionally, while serving on community based Uintech Committee wrote majority of GOED grant that was awarded $223,000 to Vernal City to start co-working center in community
  • Fostered collaboration and development of new practices by business leaders
Director of Support Services , 07/2011 to 07/2018
Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. – Clinton , NC

Director of Support Services including:

  • 2011-Director Career and Technical Education and After-School Coordinator.

Many of these responsibilities were essentially outside areas of expertise, however was able to effectively lead in those roles and make significant improvements.

Director of CTE for seven years

  • Started pre-engineering program in all secondary schools
  • Partnered with local oil and gas companies who provided over $750,000 to start and run pre-engineering program
  • Created STEM program for elementary schools, providing high quality curriculum and training for teachers.
  • Initiated Petroleum pathway with state CTE officials.
  • Initiated Pro Start culinary program
  • Prepared teachers to help students effectively pass state CTE exams

Gifted and Talented Coordinator: After-School Coordinator

  • Created Gifted and Talented Program for upper elementary students in partnership with Utah State University. Program became very popular with students and parents.
  • Wrote two, three year grants to provide full funding for elementary after-school programs.
  • Started new after-school program at Davis Elementary.

Provided leadership in Student Transportation program leading to:

  • Significant cost savings on routes
  • Upgraded buses to include propane buses, reducing fuel costs and becoming more environmentally friendly
  • Worked with Coordinator to significantly improve culture and cooperation of department
  • Organized mechanic department for greater efficiency.
  • Upgraded systems including routes and scheduling from pen and paper to computer systems.
