  • Ensure training of Community Health Workers (CHWs) to use pre-packaged artesunate-amodiaquine to treat uncomplicated malaria, perform rapid diagnosis test (RDT) for patients > 5 years and refer severe and non-malaria cases.
  • Ensure that CHW provides treatment based on presumptive clinical diagnosis for children 6 - 59 months and on a positive RDT result for patients aged over 5 years.

  • Coordinate implementation of health activities of Project AXxes Project at South Kivu Province. Project AXxes, a large USAID-funded health systems strengthening and service delivery program targeting eight million people in post-conflict areas of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The main objective was to improve the availability, quality, and capacity of overall health care in 57 rural health zones adversely affected by years of civil war, neglect, and relative isolation.
  • Coordinate implementation of package of primary health care (PHC) interventions) in South health zones of Sud Kivu Province; including reinforcement of vaccination services, provision of pharmaceuticals and supplies to hospitals and health centers, delivery of a full complement of maternal and child health services including family planning, and newborn and postpartum care.
  • Provide technical assistance in the area of planning, implementation and evaluation of project activities and monitor monthly progress through the project key indicators including control disease, surveillance, operational research, etc.
  • Supervise supported health zones at least once a month and prepare a report which reports the progress and weaknesses to bring actions to correct.

  • As Deputy Medical Project Director in Popokabaka, DR Congo: Effective treatment of sexual transmitted diseases and HIV prevention program established in over 50 health facilities and schools. Over 1,000 health providers and school peer-educators trained on HIV and STD treatment and prevention.
