I am a dedicated and conscientious individual who approaches all situations in a calm and sensible manner. Even though I am a newly certified Emergency Medical Technician, I am confident that my educational background, rapid learning ability, and calculated problem solving and decision making ability will allow me to excel as a Firefighter.
I am looking at Firefighting as a career because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Firefighting was a career that I was always interested in, but I had never seriously looked into pursuing. My gap year allowed me to slow down and take a break from the Physician Assistant pathway I was on and consider what I want to spend the rest of my life doing. Throughout this year, in conversations with my friends, family, and some firefighters, I realized that this is a career I want to pursue. It was after my first day as an EMT for Fallon Ambulance, in which I responded to a heart attack of a 77 year old man, that I have become even more set on pursuing this career. Again, I am confident that my skills, personal and professional, will allow me to excell as a Firefighter.
