CT -As an initial crew member onboard a nuclear submarine I directly contributed to the development and testing of numerous ship critical systems, including but not limited to the ships primary control system, the military radar, and the interior communications system. -Qualified Navigation Supervisor, a qualification usually reserved for senior personnel, as a Petty Officer Third Class to support numerous complex missions that the ship would have otherwise been unable to complete. -I personally oversaw and developed ALL of the complex navigation plans which resulted in the submarine safely completing all of its missions from initial Sea Trials in 2008 to its first deployment in 2013. -My expertise of ships systems and leadership was directly responsible for the development and qualification of numerous junior personnel years ahead of others in their pay grade. -As the Training Petty Officer I personally developed a training plan that directly resulted in an increase in knowledge and proficiency within the division. -My leadership and mentoring led to the submarine being graded at ABOVE STANDARDS in open ocean navigation prior to deployment and I was personally recognized as one of the best Navigation Supervisors in the fleet. -Due to my hard work and meticulous attention to detail I was meritoriously advanced to Petty Officer First Class after being in the Navy for just under 6 years. -During my time onboard I was awarded TWO Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Two Good Conduct Medals, Two Sea Service Deployment Medals, and an Arctic Sea Service Deployment Medal.
