Provided critical and accurate PA information regarding military air strikes and humanitarian aid drops to CCCI Directorate Leadership, higher command echelons: National Security Agency, Office of the Secretary of Defense and State Department, and world-wide external media outlets during the onset and initial phases of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE - the International military intervention against ISIS, including both a campaign in Iraq and a campaign in Syria. Managed a fast pace media desk responding to over 300 queries regarding all operations and activities within the CENTCOM area of responsibility. Served as the sole Public Affairs Specials for the 500th Military Intelligence BDE that spanned across two counties (US and Japan) and three states (Hawaii, Texas and Arizona). Managed a yearly $20k PA office budget for supplies and TDY travel. Developed and managed a robust Community Relations/Outreach program and calendar that included two local school partnerships. Advised the Brigade leadership on PA policy and guidance for ongoing missions and provided crisis communication as needed. Worked with local media contacts to inform the public of ongoing unit events, such as deployments and redeployments. Wrote press releases and media advisories that highlighted various unit activities. Worked closely with subordinate Battalions in Japan, Texas and Arizona to ensure PA policy and guidelines where understood and followed by all Soldiers, often traveling to these locations to provide training. Additionally, was responsible for coordinating, developing and providing media training for Soldiers going on and returning from deployment.

Proactively managed the Brigade's Sexual Assault and Prevention Program and served as the Brigade Unit Victim Advocate, working closely, as needed, with the installation SARC. Routinely gave training to unit Soldiers to ensure Army policy was met, but more importantly, to ensure Soldiers were informed of their rights, where to go if they experience an assault, what reporting options they had and where they could seek help if they chose not to report.

Accomplishments: The Brigade's active role with their School Partnership was honored with a Proclamation from The House of Representatives of the State of Hawaii and presented on behalf of the 46th District of Hawaii State Representative, Michael Magaoay for outstanding achievements, professional commitment, dedication, and valuable service to Waialua High and Intermediate school. This partnership was one of the unit's top Community Relations and Outreach endeavors.
