Summary
Adjunct College Psychology Instructor of sixteen years.  I am driven to inspire students to achieve personal and academic success, employing creative teaching strategies to engage students fully in the learning process. I strive to create a challenging and engaging learning environment in which students become life-long scholars and learners. I use a variety of tools to aid in the learning experience; classroom discussion activities, videos and power point.  I believe a deeper learning takes place when information can be personally applied to the student’s life.  I teach with a balance of theory and practical application.  I also ask probing questions to facilitate class discussion, which I believe aides to deeper pathways of learning.  Psychology is a subject in which the student can have the opportunity to take theoretical concepts and see how they work in everyday life.  That is why I also incorporate outside classroom activities that involve research and application.
