I led the initiative to replace their existing infrastructure by moving functionality from their "Back Office" system to our CMS system, Connect. 
  • In addition, I worked as a leader on the team to develop and replace their website and e-commerce platforms by launching a new e-commerce eco-system.  Working with marketing and leadership, we created a new branding experience to initiate users from their sites to the VST systems.  We were able to formally launch a new US/Canadian, UK and Australian e-commerce website for purchasing higher education textbooks with an estimated $9 million in sales for 2016
  • Defined strategy and business plan for how and when we would migrate millions of users from their system to ours for use in our external facing application, VitalSource BookShelf
  • We migrated tens of thousands of titles as well as meta-data, user information and licenses in order to support this effort which allowed the customer a continued SSO experience from the old site to the new

  • Product Manage – Enhance, re-define and oversee the development of our internal software product (Connect) that contains financial terms, book data, license information, delivery rules, etc  This platform is used by both Publishing and Institutional partners who deliver their eTextbooks via our platform.
  • Created and implemented the solution for automating the buy/sell financials from the Connect system to Ingram's Unifi/Oracle systems resulting in more accurate billing as well as more timely royalty payments to our Publisher partners
  • Implemented process for automating delivery of assets and creation of e-textbooks with sister companies at Ingram as well as external content creators via VST owned APIs.
  • Defined the workflow process including working with outsource vendors for scalability and growth in the creation of e-textbooks (from 2011 to current; managed 3x growth YOY without missing any deadlines)
  • Managed the development and launch of an ecommerce store focused in the UK and Australia.
  • Successfully led the product management effort to develop and implement an ad portal pre-flight tool (ads4reed.com) with one of our vendor partners that reduced our cycle time for pre-flight by two weeks and resulted in over a million dollars in savings over the first two years it was rolled out.   
  • Refined the web ad and eNewsletter ad process that resulted in substantial cost savings and a reduction in makegoods as well as an increased on-time/full delivery rate across RBI sites from about 85% to approximately 98%.
  • Successfully developed and implemented with our layout software vendor (Dataplan) a tool that allowed us to send manufacturing information and pages utilizing XML/JDF technology resulting in over half a million dollars in savings due to improved efficiency.  This replaced our Impoze layout software offering.
  • Created co-printing and co-binding pools to feed into co-mail pools creating greater efficiency, better delivery and over $200,000 a year in un-budgeted savings.
