Enthusiastic Sales Associate with several years experience. Professional, proactive, and well-organized leader with significant training in effective merchandising, sales and customer service techniques.
As a desk assistant at TCU I performed a variety of customer service orientated tasks. These included but are not limited to welcoming students into my residence hall, filing maintenance requests, filing lockouts, tracking packages, assisting residents, and calling RA's when necessary. Additionally, I helped organize programs in my hall, which focused on engaging and connecting with residents in order to build better relationships with them. I only worked through March 2019 as I was forced to go home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a sales associate I helped maintain the store floor, process shipments, take inventory, stock, operate a cash register, prepare the store for closing, organize/fold clothes, work with difficult customers, lift heavy boxes, coordinate customer orders with other stores over the phone, assess customer needs, and maintain proper customer service etiquette. During the school year I worked 3 times a week while during the summer I worked on average 4 times a week. My typical shift length was anywhere from 6-8 hours.
As a front desk associate I gave tours, sold gym memberships (in person, over the phone, and through email), cleaned the facility, attended to customer's needs, made smoothies, worked the computer, and learned how to use the software program Club Ready. My previous place of employment (Team Fitness Franklin) was bought out by Boost, and I was one of two high school students out of eight asked to stay. I took on more hours and worked shifts independently. This included closing the facility alone. I was only there for two months due to a family emergency that required me to travel for several months. While I was there I worked several shifts a week approximately 5 hours each.
As a front desk associate I gave tours, sold gym memberships (in person, over the phone, and through email), cleaned the facility, attended to customers' needs, made smoothies, kept laundry moving, worked the computer, and learned how to use the software programs DataTrak and ABC Financial. It began as an unpaid internship and after two weeks I was asked to take on a paid part time position. In the summer I worked 5 days a week and during the school year 2 days a week. My average shift length was anywhere from 4 to 7 hours. This included closing the facility regularly.
I was accepted into the John V. Roach Honors College at Texas Christian University as an incoming freshman. This required a separate application process as well as a high ACT score and GPA.
Golden Opportunities for Independence
November 2018 — Present
Golden Opportunities for Independence is an organization that helps raise Golden Retrievers for a variety of service positions. So far as a volunteer I have been able to help deliver a litter of puppies and assist in raising three litters. This consists of taking the dogs on walks and various exposure excursions, teaching them new skills (some basic and some specific to the role they will be serving), feeding them, cleaning out their crates, and caring for them. It was such a rewarding experience, and something I will continue to do for years to come.
Kids Exercise Instructor
June 2016 — February 2017
As an Assistant C4 (CrossFit for Kids) Instructor I was able to teach kids nine and up the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. This included helping them preform exercises properly, developing workout programs tailored to their age and ability level, and playing/creating games for them. This experience proved extremely enriching because I learned how to work with kids effectively and develop skills within my desired fields of study such as heath, dietetics, and fitness. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them improve throughout the program and develop an appreciation for exercise.
