Served as the Command Chaplain for the Area Support Group-Kuwait for the forward deployed, permanent U.S. presence in Kuwait in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Provided Title X religious support to a command and control sustaining operations of force projection, staging, and onward movement with over 20,000 Joint Military, Civilians, Contractors and Family Members in Kuwait. Provided direct and/or general support to six base camp programs. Managed a $100K budget for religious support provided by the Kuwaitis. Supervised 45 chaplains and their chaplain assistants from two different National Guard Rotations. Provided training for command and chaplains to include: Suicide Prevention, Combat Stress Training, Sexual Assault Prevention and Reporting Training, Leadership, Re-integration Training, Mentoring, Spirituality Sustainment, Cultural Sensitivity and Team building. Managed daily operations of Zone One Chapel and was Senior Protestant Chaplain in Theater. Oversight of 2,743 Title X Worship Services for over 57,000 persons to include: Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and Wiccan. Personally performed over 1,500 counseling sessions which included Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment, Bullying, Toxic Command Climate, Marital Issues and Suicidality. Handled the most difficult and diverse religious issues encountered by the Commander in 22 years of military service along with several investigations of toxic command climates of deployed units.
Served as the Senior Chaplain Clinician, Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care (DMPC) for Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), the largest US military medical center. Worked with Families to meet the needs of the Wounded Warriors before there was a Soldier Family Assistance Center (SFAC) to include issues with young parents. Sat on the design team for the SFAC. Supervised 18 ward chaplains, 5 Chaplain Pastoral Education residents, and 5 chaplain candidates who performed ministry to the hospital staff, patients and their families. Provided pastoral care to five cancer wards, the VIP ward and Nursing Leadership while Senior Clinician. Clinical pastoral care consultant to medical care providers and staff to include NARMC Commander and Hospital Command. Completed 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) along with coursework for Doctorate of Ministry. Provided ministry to all intensive care units, psychiatric units, cardiac units and pediatric units for 3 1/2 years. Served 18 months as a Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor in training. Pioneered, developed and executed two major Spirituality and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symposiums for the medical professionals throughout the MEDCOM along with including local VA Hospital Staff and Clinicians. Symposiums hosted 8 world renowned experts in the PTSD field to present to a world-wide audience via VTC with over 500 in attendance. Over 1,000 hours of program planning and development were included in the holistic nature of training and treatment of Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) patient care of PTSD. Personally instructed 64 professional classes in 10 different disciplines Officer in Charge (OIC) of the hospital chapel with oversight of the Jewish, Muslim, Catholic and Protestant Communities. Worked with staff on issues of self-care and secondary PTSD and treatment. Responsible for budgets ranging from 95K to 105K.

Oversaw financial operations of $600K NAF, $155K AF, $22M worth of religious facilities and contracting Officer Representative for $111K in AF and $45K in NAF Non-personal Services Contracts along with day to day operations. Serves on the Family Advocacy Committee for Area IV which reviewed Family Assault and Sexual Assault Cases. Worked with units on trafficking of sexual slaves from other countries before it became an issue on the cover of Time Magazine. Conducted Critical Incident De-briefing for the 160th SOAR when their Chinook went down and lost all 8 crew members to include the memorial service. Conducted intense counseling after 9-11 and performed the Memorial Services for Camp Carrol. Conducted intense grief counseling after the Subway Terrorist Attack when 200 Koreans were killed in Daegu in a subway fire. Counseled with multiple rape victims (male, female and children) while stationed in Korea. Responsible for the renovation of the Camp Walker Chapel at a $500K cost and secured funding for the Camp Walker Religious Education Building for $750K with matching funds from the Chief of Chaplains Office. Worked with multiple units on Suicide Prevention, Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Prevention of Sexual Assault.
