  • Hired to lead and develop the new deductions department that was being created to centralize all deductions. 
  • Supervised a staff up to 5 partners with a Sr.
  • Deduction Coordinator, the department was created to centralize deduction activities in support of the new centralized CSR department.
  • My responsibilities were to hire, train and develop personnel for the deductions group, as well as, develop/modify policies and procedures for handling deductions.
  • I coordinated the group's activities with the CSR department, sales and marketing, transportation, inventory and IT.
  • Jointly we created/modified procedures and policies for handling deductions; identified the necessary contacts within those various departments; reduced the overall number of deductions, dollar value of deductions and number of deductions written off.
  • In addition to these functions I served as the corporate deductions representative for implementation and testing for SAP upgrades and conversions that have included ECC 6.0 upgrade, Goldkist implementation and ECC 6.0 support stacks testing.
Dr Tichenor'sNew Orleans, LAAccounting Specialist07/2003 to 08/2005
  • Hired when the company contracted to manufacture, ship and maintain the accounting functions for Boudreaux's Butt Paste.
  • Instrumental in converting accounting practices for this small local company, who dealt with regional wholesalers, from Quickbooks to MAS90.
  • During the ensuing two years Boudreaux's became a national company with projected sales for 2005 in excess of 10 million dollars to such corporations as Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, and WinnDixie.
  • Duties included all aspects of A/R, A/P and payroll using MAS90 and Paychex payroll service.
  • Responsible for complete process of incoming purchase orders including generating sales orders, picking sheets, bills of lading, invoices (EDI invoices included), and purchase orders for inventory if needed; matching with incoming receipt of goods, receipt of invoices and paying invoices.
  • Designed and implemented a RMA system: tracked missing or damaged shipments.
  • Research deductions and discounts taken on accounts receivables to ensure viability; provide pod and rebill or issue credits as needed.
  • Trained and assigned duties to additional staff member as company grew.
  • Also ensured retail sales accuracy and customer satisfaction.
Specialty Food SystemsSlidell, LAAccounting Generalist02/2002 to 03/2003
  • Determine General Ledger codes for weekly invoices and input using MAS90.
  • Balance credit card income daily and to monthly statements and maintain equipment needs working inside budgetary constraints for 27 Arby's restaurants.
  • Research exceptions for A/P, A/R and G/L.
  • Using Word and Excel, prepare sales and statistical reports on a daily, weekly and period ending basis.
  • Including Management Control, Sales, Free Food, Menu Mix, Quality Control and Coupon.
  • Using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; design, implement and train personnel on new reporting policies involving the sales and marketing procedures to mainstream paper flow such as Daily Sales and Free Food from the field to the accounting and marketing departments also implemented, trained personnel and maintained new procedures, reporting systems and materials for 1-800 Customer Satisfaction Hotline, including comment cards, displays, contacting customers daily to resolve complaints, weekly reports and reporting appropriate personnel in home office and in field any situations to escalated levels.
