Experience in animal behavior and training
2+ years experience in customer service
Academic achievement
I had to work with upwards of 20 dogs each day in the Day Care center, maintaining the group, monitoring behaviors and taking protective measures in some cases. As a kennel facilitator I made sure the dogs were fed, bathed, let out, and properly exercised.
I worked mostly as a pizza maker and cashier, I had to be able to manage my time very well and relate to customers in a variety of situations under various pressures including lack of time and lack of space
I worked with dog trainer Cynthia Kurtz who is self taught but renowned by many Animal Behaviorists in her field. I co-taught puppy and dog training classes, assisted her in home visit training sessions and read many books on animal behavior under her recommendation. I was also one of her youngest and most dedicated assistants and we still keep in touch to discuss my future education and career
I am currently working with Save Endangered Animals Oregon through my animal welfare club and I intend to work with the Primate Research Center over the summer as an intern
