Hello! My name is Abbey Lieffers, and I am a hard working, passionate creative. I am excited to pursue my career, and to see where my journey will take me!
Enthusiastic student with superior skills in working in both team-based and independent capacities. Bringing strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills to any setting. Excited to contribute and develop creative problem solving and artistic ability to any project.
I am currently a member of the AAF MSU chapter– a student run organization which is part of a national collegiate program. As a member, we work on designing a conceptual advertising campaign based on the details of a brief provided to us by the national board from a partnered corporate client each year. At the end of each year, we compete at the National Student Advertising Competition where we present our campaign plan to a panel of judges and the winning teams from across the country will be recognized. This experience so far has given me a wide variety of practical experience in the process of designing an ad campaign, and it has helped me to grow in a wide variety of skillsets so far, including campaign research, presenting, graphic design work, and the experience of collaborating with such a diverse group of members with varying experience to learn from each other as a team.
Street Teams is a student organization at MSU that works with helping local nonprofits with marketing and advertising over the course of a year. As a member, I am part of a team of seven other students with one student producer, and we are assigned with a nonprofit organization to help strengthen their advertising and promotion. We help them with creating content including videos and other graphics, as well as helping them with designing a brand guide and with strengthening their social media. We work with a wide variety of skills and content, and we base all of our work on the nonprofit's goals and asks of us, gaining multimedia experience. My most valuable experience so far with Street Teams has been being able to work with the nonprofit, as nonprofit work and advertising is something that I am really passionate about and would love to stay engaged with throughout my career.
WCSMO is a student marketing organization that works with the Wharton Center of performing arts on campus at MSU. In the past, the club has served as a chance for students to gain experience in marketing for different broadway and performing arts shows that come to the Wharton Center, but in response to the pandemic and the canceling of shows this season, we have been doing a lot more professional development activities. As a member, we participate in meetings with different guest speakers that join our meetings and discuss their work in performing arts marketing, covering topics such as inclusion, accessibility in the arts, social media design and planning, professional and personal development, and much more. I have had a great experience this year so far with learning from so many interesting experiences in the industry, as well as networking and learning from each other as a group.
