Overseeing all details related to the construction of new buildings from preconstruction meetings to final turnover to the customer. This includes all site work, utility construction, meeting with engineering inspectors daily or weekly. Coordinating and scheduling all subcontractors from the foundation, steel erection, framing, and MEP installations through finish work to final clean. Schedule the delivery of all material provided by the GC and equipment needed monthly for each task. Generate RFI's after reviewing documents and finding discrepancies that conflict with conditions on site or within the structure. Provide information related to Change Orders. Some of the daily/weekly items I am responsible for monitoring include, soil testing, concrete testing, pressure testing of all pipes, connection inspections of all steel, damp proofing, code inspections, and safety of all subs on site. I provide my office with a daily construction report filed through Plan Grid. Plan Grid allows me to file RFI's with sheet attachments that highlight the areas in question. Knowledge to construct the type of buildings I am responsible for include, Fire & Life Safety, all building codes, MEP operations, and interpretation of all drawings and specifications. I provide my office with daily reports that include subcontractor information on each one and pictures of task that are underway or completed. Weekly meetings take place with the architect, owners rep, the school director, and my project manager. I provide scheduling updates, any issues with material delivers, and projected progress for the following week. I also walk the site with the architects every 2 weeks and review any RFI's that could delay our schedule. Review monthly AIA pay app with the owners rep and walk the buildings with the bank inspector to confirm phases completed.
My current building project is a 35,000 square foot new, out of the ground, charter school consisting of 2 buildings and costing 4 million plus.
My responsibilities at DWC included estimating projects and overseeing their construction. Most projects were renovation of existing buildings including multistory buildings and restaurants. Meeting with property managers to determine their needs when developing the scope of the project. Weekly meetings with architects and owners rep to review progress and scheduling.
My position at GTG at this time included renovation of existing buildings and construction of new buildings. My responsibilities included overseeing all details of construction from the site work/foundation to the final inspection and move in. I was laid off in March of 2010 due to a lack of work because of the downturn in the economy.
