    The New Castle County affiliate of the larger non-profit Habitat for Humanity International ranks third in production in the Northeastern United States and 38th in production among the 1500 national affiliates. We build and renovate more than 20 homes per year for lower income first time homebuyers. Homes are affordably priced through the use of volunteer labor, gift-in-kind resources and zero interest mortgages.
  • Successfully managed Habitat's largest and most impactful urban home building project - 21 townhomes constructed on a brownfield, including the construction of a new City street. 
  • Worked directly with environmental company (Brightfields) to implement vapor intrusion barrier system in homes due to brownfield soil contamination concerns. 
  • Maintained up-to-date knowledge and information about buidling science technology and energy efficiency best practices. Achieved Energy Star and NAHB Green Build Certification - Gold Standard for 100% of homes built.
