Summary
My desire is to be a part of a challenging career in mechanical industry and utilize my skills in an environment that will enhance the company's growth. To contribute my excellence in designing, development and quality issues, coupled with interpersonal skills, creativity and sustained enthusiasm.
Highlights
  • Proficient in SolidWorks
  • Computer aided manufacturing software (CAM)
  • 3D design and simulation softwares
  • Geometric dimensioning expertise
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management
  • Time management skills
Accomplishments
  • Tribological Properties of Textured Surfaces created using Modulation Assisted Machining (MS Thesis): Friction between mating components can cause energy losses up to 40%. Textured surfaces help reduce friction between mating components by acting as fluid reservoirs and wear debris traps. As a result energy losses can be reduced and part life can be increased. Experimental work is being done on a rotating pin on disk tribometer and a theoretical model will be developed to verify the experimental results.
  • Solvent Consolidation 3D Printing: One major drawback in the current additive manufacturing process of FDM is the loss of part strength and structural weakness along the axis perpendicular to the build axis. As a result most parts produced are used as prototypes. To improve the "weld" of the printed layers, acetone will be added to the ABS powder bed, to better infuse the concurrent layers and increase the mechanical strength of the parts. Thus, these parts could be used directly for applications.
  • Design and Simulation of Four Wheel Steering: In standard 2 wheel steering systems, only the front wheels play a part in vehicular steering. The aim of the project was to develop a new steering mechanism where in the steering wheel controls the turning movement of all four wheels. This helps to compensate for the under/over steer problem, thus giving a neutral steering under varying operating conditions. Also decreases the turning radius and helps in parallel parking. The link for the published paper is: http://www.ijeit.com/Vol%203/Issue%2012/IJEIT1412201406_65.pdf.
