Principle Investigator: Dr. Ilya Yaroslavsky PhD (XXX-687-9237)
-Working under Dr.Yaroslavsky on various research projects and studies examining emotional regulation, mood, and stress and their relationship to the autonomic nervous system in adults.
-Responsibilities include administration of research protocols, collection and organization of participant data, scoring and cleaning of physiological measures such as HRV, RSA, and Impedance Cardiography.
-Gained experience working with AcqKnowlege, E-Prime, and Mindware software.
Studies
Mood, Emotional Regulation, & Interpersonal Difference - part 2 (Ongoing)
-Examining the relationship between the autonomic nervous system via psychophysiology measures and the behavioral, cognitive, and interpersonal processes that support an individuals' emotional understanding, mood repair, and interpersonal interaction using mood inducing films, mood repair activities, measures of emotional regulation, a ball tossing task, a competitive reaction time game, and an attention task.
-Physiological measures include HRV, Impedance Cardiography, EDA, and eye tracking.
-Participants are composed of undergraduate Cleveland State University students and are given a Structured Clinical Interview for DSM Disorders (SCID) to determine any clinical significance.
Emotion Recognition & Social Cognition Study
-Examined the relationship between the autonomic nervous system via psychophysiology measures and the behavioral, cognitive, and
interpersonal processes that support an individuals' emotional understanding and social interactions using mood inducing films, the Trier Social Stress Test, measures of emotional regulation techniques, and questionnaires to establish group characteristics.
-Physiological measures included HRV, Impedance Cardiography, Electrodermal Activity (EDA), and vocal characteristics.
-Participants were made up of undergraduate and graduate Cleveland State University students.
