International Game Developers Association (IGDA)
The Diversity Advisory Board of the IGDA ensures that people
from a wide range of backgrounds are represented in the
game development industry. The board's objective is to
align the community with resources and tools, and to foster
collective collaboration with industry leaders to improve
marketplace awareness. The board established the award
ceremony for Jerry Lawson, the first African-American
game developer.
Co-founder, The Urban Video Game Academy 2007 - Present

The mission of the Urban Video Game Academy (UVGA)
is to better prepare students in disadvantaged areas for
postsecondary education and technology careers by teaching
the fundamentals of video game design and development.
UVGA's mission is to expose students to career opportunities
in video game design and development, and to enhance
learning in academic subjects such as math and writing.
The program includes a summer camp and workshop given
across Atlanta and Maryland.
Founder, The Urban Game Jam 2005 - Present

Urban Game Jam is an Entertainment Arts Research Inc. brand
program to promote game development as a career pathway.
Urban Game Jams have been hosted in Atlanta, New York,
and other cities. Each Game Jam includes activities such as
workshops, college fair, exhibition, and demonstrations.
Major sponsors have included gaming companies
(Unity and Stencyl), media companies (Cox, CableOne, TVOne),
and higher education (Southern Polytechnic State University,
Spelman College).

The DeKalb Council for the Arts is a non-government, not-for-profit
arts group with the mission to promote the arts, emerging artists
and arts in education in DeKalb County.
