After the they walked out of the store, an FDA Agent was standing in the store and told me, “Congratulations, you passed”.
  • Every year, the Oklahoma Tax Commission comes into the store to conduct a routine check-up and review our sales permit. Each time, I was complimented for following proper state procedures. Conducting name checks and ensuring through various databases, electronic systems, that my operation is running within the confines of the law.
09/2016 to 11/2020 Assistant Case Manager, Intern Mabel Bassett Correctional Center | City, STATE,
  • Assisted Case Managers in opening, reviewing, and closing inmate case files and documentation. Organized their paperwork and ensured that all inmate paperwork was completed and filed accurately. Observed the implementation of electronic system at Mabel Bassett, moving from physical files to electronic portals.
  • October 2016, an inmate lost emotional control and became very irate with me. I was able to divert the situation and her anger by using my initiative and ingenuity to remain calm and assure the inmate that they were being heard. I was able maintain the integrity of the rules and regulations of the facility while preserving the dignity of the inmate, ensuring their safety, my safety and the facility.
  • December 2016, experience writing non-technical reports. Rose State College, Criminal Justice practicum. Wrote a case report on women incarcerated in the state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma, at that time was number one for women incarceration. My report was on the community these women established while incarcerated. I concluded that the United States criminal justice system is complex, but effective. I was complemented by my professor for the report and received a 300/300.
  • December 2016 - I was the first intern in 20 years at the correctional facility, and because of my successful internship with Mabel Bassett, I was told by my supervisor, Dennis Griffith, that I had paved the path for future students to come to Mable Bassett to conduct internships. Due to the positive interaction I had with the staff and inmates, that it had been decided that Mable Bassett would continue to support student interns at the center.
