My name is Jessica Claire. I work at Backus Hospital and I work as a catering assistant. I have worked in the food industry for about 6 years now. I enjoy working at the hospital and getting to know and help the patients and visitors that walk into our doors. I do go above and beyond when patients need help with their food and the PCAs or Nurses are busy taking care of the other patients that they have. For example, a patient was very weak could hardly lift their arms and I noticed that the nurses and PCAs were overwhelmed, so I decided to help open anything that was hard to open on their tray and cut up their food to small pieces so it was easier to swallow. When I worked at Cedars Steakhouse in Foxwoods as a hostess we had to answer phones and use a computer program to set up customer reservations. When the people showed up for their reservations I always talked in a welcoming and professional manner and always gave a warm and welcoming smile even when overwhelmed. I have outstanding people skills and would love to learn a new job title that could help jump start my career.
