Having great interpersonal skills is so important in any business that involve dealing with society face to face on a daily basis. This also usually includes having problem solving and leadership skills; being able to take control of a stressful situation and keeping a cool head is key to customer service. I have been recognized nationally as a scholar with these important life skills by the National Youth Leadership Forums of America.
As a junior in high school I was recognized nationally for my accomplishments in math, science and leadership within the classroom by the National Youth Leadership Forums of America. They invited me to join them in Boston for their forum on medicine. I received two college credits and a wealth of knowledge of the world and of people.
My duties as a carhop at Sonic included an extensive knowledge of all the menu items, stationary and seasonal. i also used simple math in regards to money and excellent interpersonal skills were a must for customer service. I also took and expedited orders correctly and in a timely fashion.
My responsibilities included keeping the salad bar and buffet stocked with fresh items and clean. I also greeted guests and handled money while working the front register.
As a hostess at Buffalo Wild Wings I greeted and interacted with guests as I sat them. My responsibilities as counter girl included taking and expediting Togo orders and drinks. I also handled money running the front register. I cleaned and stocked area as needed.
My responsibilities as a customer service professional included talking to guests, taking and expediting their orders, running front register, running drive through register, and cleaning and stocking front fountain area.
As a hostess my duties were to greet and seat guests as well as making sure that they had everything they needed. As a server i also greeted and seated guests, took and expedited theirs orders, handled money at register, and made sure that the guest had everything they wanted and needed. I also made sure that my area was always cleaned and stocked properly.
During my time at Santa Fe, I was selected to attend a forum on medicine held by The National Youth Leadership Forums of America due to my proficiency in math and science and my leadership skills in the classroom. I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity,it truly was a once in a lifetime chance to be able to go into those hallowed halls of the Ivy Leagued Universities and study alongside medical students and some of the best minds in the country.
