Here I started as just a person to help for the Holidays and they ended up asking me to stay on as a part time team member. In Aug. of 2013 I was promoted to Assistant Manager and in June of 2014 I got an offer to take the Head Manager position at our Crawfordsville, IN store. Where I Managed for a year and a half, then moved back up to Plymouth, IN when the Head Manager position opened up. In January of 2017 they closed my store due to a competitor of ours that had moved into town and hurt our sales. I started with Pyramid Masonry in March of 2017 working as a laborer, In december of 2017 when work got slow I needed to find something more stable and in Janurary of 2018 I started at J.W HIcks with whom I am currently still employed. Work History
Manitowoc - Canner, plate finishing, hot banding, kiln operator, batch plant operator
Winston Salem, NC, 01/2018 - Current
  • I have been apart of theJ.W Hicks team for 3 years now, and during my time here I have learned how to do a number of different jobs and learned to do them well. In my first 90 days I learned canning, plate finishing and hot banding. Once I became proficient in those jobs and learned how to not only do them myself but also train new team members to become proficient as well. I then proceeded to learn how to drive the forklift, nozzle finishing, gaskets, Grinders, building sagger boxes and how to load and unload the kiln. I was also put in charge of recycle plant for a couple months and getting it cleaned up out there. I desired to grow and see what else I could learn about the company. So back in August of 2020 I moved down to our precast plant and continued my growth and knowledge of the company. I started out on the casting team and learned how to take apart and put together molds for our ladle bottoms, then I learned how to cast the ladle bottoms. I then learned how to run out batch plant and check in and unload trucks with our raw materials. Being apart of J.W hicks has been a pleasure and I have enjoyed getting to learn this industry.
T-Mobile - Laborer
New Milford, CT, 03/2017 - 12/2017

At Pyramid Masonry I was responsible for setting up jobs and putting materials in the right place on the site to make our work more productive. I mixed morter, set up brick, block and stone where it needed to be as well as set up and take down scaffold. I enjoyed the work and left only because once winter came there was not the work to keep me busy.

Frederick County Government - Retail Store Manager
Frederick, MD, 06/2014 - 02/2017
  • Running day to day operations, filing daily paperwork keeping office clean and organized.
  • Making schedules, interviewing, hiring and firing, making sure sales goals are met, training new employees, running inventory.
  • I started at hibbett sports in October of 2012 as holiday help. Once the holiday season ended they wanted to keep me on. So I stayed and in august of 2013 I became an assistant manager and started learning how to run the store when my manager was gone. I learned how to do interviews, and how to keep a store running smoothly. In June of 2014 a manager position opened up at one of the stores in our district in Crawfordsville, IN. When they offered me the postilion I did not hesitate. As a manager of my own store I learned very fast that there was a new set of challenges I had to learn to deal with. I learned how to deal with employee conflicts, how to talk to people and treat others a lot more then when I was an assistant. I was also in charge of inventory at my store as I had to take inventory every monday morning before we opened. I was responsible for checking in our shipments of new inventory every week and getting it out on the sales floor in a timely manner. In January of 2016 The manger position at our plymouth store became available and since this is the store I started at they offered it to me and I took it. I was there till January of 2017 when due to competition from another sporting goods store they decided to close it. I drove and worked out of our Elkhart IN store for a couple months before I found another job.

  • I started at the Starke County Public Library when I was 16 my job at the time was making sure all the books that came back from being checked out were put back in the correct places on the shelves. after a year of being there I started learning how our computers system worked and started checking out books and movies to the patrons. It was at this point in my job that I started learning customer service and what it meant to actually serve others. When I graduated in 2011 I got promoted to a full time circulation clerk and was running the circulation desk I was given the responsibility of opening and closing the library and also going out and filling in at our other branches of the library for the managers there. I loved my time working at the library and getting to work with the public and learn about the different people in out community.
