I love to organize anything and everything! I was always a very organized person to begin with but I have discovered that it makes me so happy to live and work in environments that are organized. I realized that the parts of my jobs I love the most have to do with the organization of the work at hand.
For example, When I worked at Banana Republic, I organized my entire filing system in my office through a color coded system. To my surprise, my system was recognized by upper management who rolled it out to the entire company!
During my years at Ralph Lauren, my organizational skills cone in handy more often than not as I have to merchandise 3,000 square foot shops on a daily basis and need to refixture entire shops before I could even start my job for the day. Floor zoning and planning are critical as well as having a good visual eye and an understanding of the business. It is also critical that the back of the house needs to be organized in order for things to run smoothly. It's fun for me to organize stock rooms and label where everything is so sales associates can find what they are looking floor easily and quickly.
My love of organizing has made me realize that this is what I'm really good at and love to do and that maybe I should build my career around it. I started organizing my recently renovated home as well as family members living spaces just for the fun of it. In doing so, I saw how happy it made us all feel on a day to day basis. That feeling of being in control of your space and not letting it control you is what motivates me to want to build a career around organizing. I want everyone to feel in control, feel free and not burdened by their stuff.
