Professional Summary

Over the past six years, I have had the opportunity to utilize my skills in the job positions I obtained. Starting at the age of 16, I got my first job working as a cashier. With this position, I was committed and hardworking. Processing transactions and assisting customers was part of my job. I was dedicated to resolving issues, answering customer questions and ringing up customers. Occasionally I would help other departments such as grocery or bakery when they needed assistance. In 2017, I obtained my certification to be a nursing assistant. With this, I scored my first job at guardian angels care center in which I worked in the transitional care unit. I assisted residents with their activities of daily living and communicated with individuals in the multi-disciplinary team all while maintaining patient respect, dignity, and advocacy. In 2019, I transitioned to a nursing assistant position at another guardian angels location in Otsego. This facility was an assisted living, and even though I was still assisting patients as I did in the transitional care unit, some additional responsibilities were added to my role. I was now able to administer medication, eye drops, and insulin. As a nursing assistant, I was able to work with patients nearing the end of life, along with patients who were in the processes of recovering so they could go home. Lastly, when I started nursing school, I started working at a local coffee shop. I still currently work there, and I have the responsibilities of communicating tasks and duties that need to be accomplished during the shift, train new employees, and maintain a clean and safe workplace for other staff and guests. These are just some of the many responsibilities I have. Throughout nursing school, I had the opportunity to tutor other nursing students. With this, I was able to encourage students to develop individual skills, foster positive learning, and promote understanding of content.
