My main role is to make changes to the software running on various machines to keep them current with plant needs. While preforming this role I was able to help make the experience for users better, and I actively sought out these types of improvements. Along with my development responsibilities, my role has a support element. I am expected to support the plant with programming related needs, and support the maintenance crew when they need help.
Worked deploying, operating, and maintaining specialized communications equipment. Performed setup and take down of equipment on location to meet mission needs. Worked to ensure communication was meeting expectations of superior officers.
During my time at PDS I had the opportunity to work along side a lot of great engineers. My main responsibility was to develop a great user experience by creating HMIs that were intuitive and easy to use. Along with this I wrote a lot of control logic for the machines. One of my favorite projects was creating an optimizer to maximize yield while cutting bars. Another major responsibility was to support customers at their location. I went on many trips with the field service team.
Learned basics of PLC Programming and assisted in tier two support. Created an android phone application that could communicate with the controller to display information from the controller in real time. Used C/C++ to develop parking lot control software.
