Experience
10/2013 to Current
Assistant Professor of Physics Department Of Defense Yorktown, VA,
  • Designed, developed, and established full-fledged ceramic preparation and characterization facility.
  • Successfully obtained, executed, and completed two major research projects based on thermoelectric and ferroelectric ceramics.
  • Operate, troubleshoot issues, and repair in-house thin and thick film deposition tools.
  • Delegated material characterization, shrinkage control and material quality assurance systems.
  • Created process controls and maintained effectiveness of oxide ceramic kilns.
  • I have been known for solving complex problems; taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercising judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • I work independently while receiving minimal guidance and at the same time I act as a resource for my colleagues and graduate students in DOE, failure analysis, Statistical Analysis, etc.
  • Supervised 4 PhD students. Trained and mentored 30+ under-graduate and post-graduate interns.
02/2011 to 09/2013
Post-Doctoral Fellow City Of Hope Pasadena, CA,
  • Developed a novel wet chemical method for obtaining bismuth layered oxide ceramics (layers, n=7) for ferroelectric memory applications.
  • Established procedure for obtaining well sintered, 2 inch diameter sputtering targets for depositing textured, fatigue-free ferroelectrics, high-k and multiferroics nano-composites.
  • Spearheaded the development of novel materials based on nano-composite thermoelectric materials with improved efficiencies.
  • Designed and developed an in-house measurement system that utilizes the Van der Pauw technique for the electrical characterization of thermoelectric ceramics.
  • Demonstrated the use of Concentrated Solar Energy for ceramic sintering that substantially decreased the densification temperature and duration while offering increased heating rates.
04/2008 to 07/2010
Senior Research Fellow Mayo Clinic Dayton, MN,
  • Designed and successfully deposited crystalline Barium Strontium Titanate thin films on amorphous fused silica substrates by RF-magnetron sputtering technique.
  • Optimized process parameters to obtain crystalline ferroelectric thin films with enhanced dielectric tunability on different substrates.
  • Fabricated ferroelectric thin films based Inter Digitated Capacitor (IDC) and circular patch capacitor (CPC) structure with 3µm features by UV-photolithography and metal lift-off process.
  • Demonstrated microwave dielectric tunability with IDC and CPC geometries.
