Assistant Branch Manager09/2006 to CurrentMartha's Vineyard Savings BankEdgartown, MAWhen coming back to employment at the bank, I
started again as Head Teller and moved within a couple years to
Assistant Branch Manager. In 2007, along with many others, I assisted
with a merger between the Dukes
County Savings Bank and the Martha's
Vineyard Co-Operative Bank. For just
over a year (2010-2011), from creation to elimination of the department, I was a
part of a call center in which I would help customers with any and all aspects
of our products from initial contact. I
have regularly dealt with vendor access along with overseeing building
maintenance. I use Word and Excel daily and am very
experienced in letter writing and the creation of simple spreadsheets. I deal regularly with cash handling and
balancing, customer service in all facets of the banks products and services
and the supervision of three to four staff members. I have
been a part of numerous committees within the bank as well. It is important to me to be involved in the
programs that my company offers. Examples
include the banks Wellness Committee, Relay for Life, our annual Branch Staff/Operations Appreciation event and Calendar Committee. Each year for the past two, we have had a
wellness initiative that allows for employees to earn time off and prizes while
committing themselves to a healthier lifestyle.
I am also a team captain for the banks Relay for Life team for the second
year in a row, although, I have been a part of the team for the last five years. I have been instrumental in fundraisers that
have earned our team the highest dollar amount in donations above all other
teams. For the last 5 years I have been directly involved with the planning an annual party for our branch staff and operations department. It is a truly amazing event that allows our staff to get to know one another and have fun in the process. Also in the recent past couple of
years, I have been an integral part of the banks calendar committee. Each year we have our own employees take
pictures around the island and have them published into a custom created calendar for
all of our customers to enjoy, near and far.

Less than a year after I began employment.
Sales Person03/2005 to 09/2006Imperial DistributorsSt Auburn, MA.- For a short time from March 2005-September 2006 I left the island and worked for this distributing company. I was responsible for filling and maintaining stock, inventory control and appearance of particular departments as a sub-contractor for Stop and Shops. Because of my ability to understand the needs of the job and my orgazational skills, they made me responsible for one of the largest stores in my division.
Branch Manager06/1999 to 03/2005Dukes County Savings BankEdgartown, MassachusettsI started off as a teller, performing normal
teller functions; maintaining a cash drawer and a small amount of other related
customer service. In 2001, I was promoted to Head Teller. Basically, I was a manager in training. I learned all the
functional roles of the Branch Manager and I
took a leadership role when the Manager and Assistant were unavailable. In
January 2003, I was promoted to Assistant
Branch Manager, where I then assumed the role of the Branch Manager when
she was not available and assisted her with
all daily Branch Management functions.
In March of 2004 I was promoted to Branch Manager. I was responsible for the
management of 5 employees. Also, my Job
included the maintaining of a vault, all customer service duties, which included account openings and helping
customers individually with their accounts.
This job also included helping and making sure the tellers are in proof by
auditing and gaining knowledge with frequent testing of regulations. I
also had the same duties as any teller in my
workplace. This involved the counting of
cash and because we did not have a
separate proof department, the encoding and
filming of many checks. Also, I am very
familiar with the filing of checks and
deposit
tickets. I feel that I excelled in this
job and I loved what I did. I became a
Branch Manager in a very short period
of time.
I feel that working as a team is top priority and I would not have
excelled the way I did without those I worked with.
Also,
in January of 2004, we had a major system conversion, of which I was 100%
involved. I went through training in all
aspects of our new system, including mortgages,
personal loans, teller and administration.
I was solely responsible for the
training of
the bank's entire branch staff in our new computer system and made sure they
were prepared for a conversion
in one month's time.
