  • Responsible for an Assault Amphibious Vehicle and a crew of up to 4 Marines.
  • Maintain assigned AAV and assist the section leader in supervising the maintenance and daily upkeep of 4 AAVs, to include coordinating and managing both preventative maintenance and corrective services, as well as maintaining documentation and record jackets.
  • Ensure the accountability, welfare, and training of assigned crew and assist the section leader in maintaining the welfare, training, administrative, and logistical requirements for a section of up to 15 Marines.
  • Advise the infantry squad leader concerning the tactical and technical employment of an AAV in amphibious and mechanized operations.
  • Tactically employ assigned AAV and its machine guns in support of embarked infantry.
  • Train infantry personnel on proper use of the communication system on assigned AAV.
  • Perform the duties and missions of the section leader in his absence.
