Ensure the accountability, welfare, and training of assigned crew and assist the section leader in maintaining the welfare, training, administrative, and logistical requirements for a section of up to 15 Marines.
Advise the infantry squad leader concerning the tactical and technical employment of an AAV in amphibious and mechanized operations.
Tactically employ assigned AAV and its machine guns in support of embarked infantry.
Train infantry personnel on proper use of the communication system on assigned AAV.
Perform the duties and missions of the section leader in his absence.
