EOS is one of the worldwide leaders in selective laser sintering; the goal of Apps Engineer is to incorporate EOS SLS 3D printers into customer production lines. This included, but wasn't limited to:

  • Communicating with sales personnel and/or customers about part application to achieve the highest quality 3D printed benchmark
  • Creating benchmark build reports with time, cost, and material usage details
  • Performing basic and advanced trainings, at customer sites, on EOS machines, materials and software
  • Collaborating with EOS engineers in Texas to utilize the machine fleet most efficiently to complete the ever-growing queue of benchmarks requested

Lab Work:

  • Clean/maintaining entire 3d printing and post processing lab
  • Ensure machine hardware is frequently calibrated/maintained to produce best results with 10+ materials kept in house

Achievements:

  • Produced a FAQ library for customers to assist in self-sufficiency
  • Certified to train customers via Train the Trainer's week long seminar
  • Certified to train customers on EOS' P110 and P396 SLS printers
Internal Sales Engineer, 10/2016 to 03/2019

Sciaky Inc began as a welding company in 1939 and has since evolved it's technology into a patented, direct energy deposition strategy used for defense applications. My role as technical sales engineer involved, but wasn't limited to:

  • Creating technical machine and service quotes
  • Analyzing proposed parts with CAD modeling
  • Responding to inquiries directed from company website
  • Network with new clients at AM trade shows, briefly explain the Sciaky DED process, and learn about their potential applications for our technology
  • Ensure accuracy of manufactured parts with FaroArm Scanner and Polyworks software
  • Utilizing Siemens NX 11 to create deposition simulations to display to our customers

Achievements:

  • Incorporating high-level CAD tasks into the Sales workflow, preventing internal delays of using the Applications Department
  • Spearheaded the internal effort to certify several shop workers and engineers in Polyworks 2018 with a 5 day training session from InnovMetric
  • Taught myself Pro-E (CREO) to assist in part design and version control within the Mechanical Engineering department

  • Mentor high school students aspiring to be engineers.
  • Duties included (but not limited to): organizing Arduino/CAD workshops, leading a CAD/3D printing seminar and workshop, leading a group of 17-25 students on tours to Stanford University and UCLA, and troubleshooting robotics, Arduino boards, and RC drones.

Additive Manufacturing Lab Technician, 08/2015 to 05/2016

Mizzou's AM Lab is a state of the art facility that offered a variety of different additive technologies for academia and industrial applications. My role as lead technician included, but wasn't limited to:

  • Post-process up to 500 laser sintered surgical parts/week
  • Learn to operate and maintain 4 different types of industrial 3D printers (SLS, SLA, Polyjet Fusion, and FDM) to best assist engineering students in prototyping
  • Use material science, and 3D modeling software (Solidworks/Magics) to generate item prototypes for outside companies and graduate students

Achievements

  • Reduced post-processing time of laser sintered ocular surgical parts by 30% with no compromise to part quality
  • Updated costing rubric for 3d printed parts according to updated inputs from management (e.g. lowered electricity costs, raised filament costs, lowered post processing time)
