GNISE (Global NetOps Information Sharing Environment):
DISN OSS Central and PEO-MA web portals converges into a single portal and re-brands as GNISE. GNISE builds on top of award-winning web platform Liferay Portal.
DISN OSS Central (Defense Information System Network (DISN) Operational Support Systems (OSS)):
DISN OSS Central is a web portal which consists of a collection of systems that perform management, inventory, engineering, planning, and repair functions for communications service providers and their networks. OSS Central provides a single point of access to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) network data for both DISA and non-DISA end users. Data is provided to the end user via portlets – windows of information that appear on the end user's browser desktop. OSS Central uses industry standards such as the JSR-186, Java Portlet Specification v1.0 and various web services specifications and technologies to integrate DISN OSS applications and content. End user access to specific OSS Central portlets is governed by their role and tasking. OSS Central allows end users to customize the organization and appearance of the portal content on their browser desktop.
PAWS (Provisioning Automated Workflow System):
The Provisioning Automated Workflow System is a web-based, net-centric system that uses commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) workflow management software and database technology to track telecommunication requirements. This system directly supports the mission of DISA and DISN in providing telecommunications services to the Department of Defense. PAWS provides for automatic monitoring and management of the DISA's DISN provisioning processes. PAWS receives data from numerous legacy DISA systems, consolidate that information, and provides an integrated view of the entire provisioning process. The objective of PAWS is to provide proactive management in bringing telecommunications services to DoD components and instituting controls so as to affect a decrease in the service delivery intervals and reduce costs through streamlined processes.
