I identified and targeted high risk shipments and conveyances for examination. Conducted a wide range of record checks using a variety of databases and systems to identify associated risks. Used databases to place lookouts and holds on targeted shipments and conveyances. I have created and used established field techniques to recognize the presence and or symptoms of quarantine plant pests and diseases, prohibited packing materials and or other quarantine specific material. I am highly trained and capable of distinguishing between domestic pest and those pest that are potentially dangerous to American agriculture industry. I have planned, conducted overseen treatments such as disinfection,sterilization, decontamination, fumigation,etc of plant pest, contaminants, prohibited agricultural material and conveyances.

While performing my duties at Miami International Airport as a Compliance officer. I was recognized as the Top Interceptor of actionable pest and exotic diseases for consecutive years.
I enabled the Compliance Team to be invited for an award ceremony for the category as a team in science with various other agencies.
In working at Air Cargo at Miami. I received recognition for 4 Significant Agricultural Incident Reports (SAIR ) for first time pest in the United States.
I attended Discard Authority Training at the USDA Plant Inspection Center. I have used my discard authority on numerous occasions to
facilitate trade.
I have been the Top Interceptor on my tour of duty carrying a high (90% ) of reportable to non- reportable again helping to facilitate trade.
Served as an Agricultural Specialist in Maritime work location, Passenger Processing, Compliance Officer And Air Cargo.
I use Cargo Enforcement Reporting And Tracking System and Emergency Action Notifications databases and I know how to navigate through Agricultural Activity Systems Quarantine Database as well. This knowledge allows me to review information and assist me in the process of facilitating trade.
I perform inspections daily, demonstrate the ability to work independently and use sound judgment in the conjunction with the CFR's, manuals, and various data bases to accomplish this task and hot hinder the flow of trade due to incorrect decisions and non-reportable pests.
During the Valentine's day rush, I trained and assisted the trainees in developing the correct skills and procedures for conducting cut flower inspections.
Throughout the fiscal year, I managed to intercept numerous reportable pests with only a small amount non-reportable pests. This equates to a percentage well over 90%. I was also recognized for my support and contribution in Trade Operations for my total pest intercepted, having the highest total and best percentage as top inspector of my tour of duty. These accomplishments support the CBP's mission.
