Oversight of Surveillance Department day to day operations. Responsible for the training, evaluation, scheduling of Surveillance Personnel. Report department activities to the Gaming Commission and the Tribal Council. During this time-frame I held several position titles the last of which was the Interim Director of Surveillance. As the Interim Director I was responsible for the day to day operations of the Surveillance Department. I was responsible for the hiring, training, evaluating and scheduling of the department personnel. I reported directly to the tribal council regarding department activities which included my department reporting of casino activities which included possible criminal activities by staff and customers, violations of tribal law, gaming laws and policies and procedure. I also held the title of Assistant Director of Surveillance in which I filled in for the Director when the Director's administrative duties took him away from the department and I worked closely with the Director in overseeing the day to day operations of the Surveillance Department. Prior to the title of Assistant Director I was the Administrative Assistant to the Director and Assistant Director. I worked closely with both the Director and Assistant Director to develop departmental policies and procedures and assisted in the training of the surveillance observers. I maintained the department filing system, typed correspondence to casino management on behalf of the Director and his Assistant as needed. Prior to becoming the Administrative Assistant I held the title of Surveillance Shift Supervisor where I was responsible for supervising shift activities, acting as liaison between the surveillance department and the casino management. I reported directly to the Director or Assistant Director as needed regarding shift concerns and activities. I coordinated activities by the surveillance observer to maintain the best surveillance during the course of any ongoing incidents such as theft, accidents, and any of countless activities that occur on the gaming floor. I was responsible for evaluating of observers on my shift. Prior to being the Shift Supervisor I was an entry level surveillance observer. I was responsible for monitoring casino floor operations that included activities in the cage, vault, count room, table games, food and beverage areas, and watched for health and safety violations. Upon noting these violations, I generated reports and submitted these to my shift supervisor for approval to send out to appropriate casino department managers. I was also required to conduct video reviews of incidents by department management, casino management and sometimes for the Human Resources Department.
