Work History
06/1970 to 09/1974
Actuarial Manager Assurant Conroe, TX,
I started as an actuarial trainee in their actuarial trainee program, attaining my ASA in 1972. During my tenure there,  I was promoted several times and my last position there involved the review of all pension new business proposals and managing the system used to provide costs for the proposed new pension plans.

09/1974 to 08/1986
Vice President and Actuary Johnson & Higgins Of California City, STATE,
I was hired to manage the internal actuarial calculation group. After a year, I  became a consulting actuary for several small corporate clients and a secondary consultant on larger corporate clients. After 5 years, I was one of the lead consulting actuaries in the office and at my departure, the book of business I was responsible for  was about $3 million of pension work, mostly produced through my efforts.

08/1986 to 06/2005
Principal and Consulting Actuary Buck Consultants City, STATE,
I was hired to help build a start up branch office from the ground floor.  When the branch started, it had 3 employees and $0 business.  Within the first two years, I brought in 2 very large, very well known pension clients (Disney and Computer Sciences Corporation).  I  was the lead consulting actuary for many of  the branch's large clients and managed the entire pension actuarial department.  After almost 20 years, the branch had 60 employees and the annual office revenues from all employee benefits (pension, health, life insurance, administration, compensation) were in the $70 million range, over 1/3 of which was from pension and actuarial related work for our clients.  While providing full pension and actuarial services for our clients, I also was the regional pension practice leader for the western United States.

06/2005 to 11/2013
Principal and Consulting Actuary Aon Hewitt City, STATE,
I was responsible for bringing in the largest pension actuarial client for the Los Angeles office (Computer Sciences Corporation) and by the time I retired, revenues for that client alone exceeded $10 million for the firm. The client eventually outsourced all of its retirement and 401(k) plans to Aon Hewitt largely on the long reputation I had with them dating back to 1978. As I neared retirement, I successfully implemented a Succession Plan for my retirement, mentoring both junior and senior associates in the nuances of the client.  While at Aon Hewitt, I supported many new business efforts.
