Serves as the Defense Travel Administrator (DTA) for Watervliet Arsenal. Responsible for the control and coordination of all required actions to support the successful operation and management of the Defense Travel System (DTS) for civilian employees. Functions include liaison with the contracted travel office at Fort Drum and the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) regarding monitoring, maintenance and functional use of DTS. Provide assistance to Watervliet Arsenal users, resolves travel issues, and maintains accurate travel database and certifications.
Performs accounting, budgeting, supply, and clerical duties relative to the fiscal operation. Performs a variety of duties involving the examination, verification, and maintenance of Army Working Capital Fund obligations and expenditures.
Manage day-to-day activities during system operations, coordinates traveler profiles, organizational data and document flow procedures in DTS. Resolves technical operation problems. Establishes and maintains organizations, groups, routing list, and lines of accounting and setup of user files. Ensures accountable officials and verifying officials have been appointed in writing and have complete on-line training within DTS. In conjunction with the traveler, reviews DTS travel vouchers for accuracy and compliance with command travel policies. Request reports from DTS as required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, troubleshooting problems, assisting DTS points of contact and travelers within each activity. Follow established organization's travel program's policies and procedures. Maintains correct lines of accounting in DTS corresponding to fiscal year budgets. Monitors and updates established budget data on a continuous basis. Monitors travel advances, voucher submissions, and serves as the Debt Monitor Manager for WVA.
